Redhat 6.2

The computers in the Parallel Collective Cluster are running a modified version of Redhat Linux 6.2 based on the 2.2.* kernels, and additional scientific software including Mathematica, Maple, Matlab, Allegro Common Lisp, the Pacific-Sierra Research FORTRAN 90 to FORTARN 77 translator, linear algebra LAPACK and BLAS libraries, the Cilk multithreaded extension of ANSI C, the Petsc libraries.

The specialized resource sharing / parallel computing software includes SMP kernel support, PVM, the MPICH implementation of MPI, LinuxThreads, and the MOSIX process migration system. A general presentation of the functionality of this software is offered by the Linux Parallel Processing HOWTO. Local copies of the documentation for the currently installed version of the packages can be consulted using the buttons on the left border.

Redhat 6.2 changes to avoid problems due to official patches or broken powertools packages can be found here.
